@Amgine It looks like I've uncovered the same ideas as you shared here, but I DEFINITELY appreciate the reminder! โค๏ธ I always forget about ice on wrists and ankles, which is hilarious given that my first cross-Canada road trip in a car without AC was made bearable by that exact technique! ๐Ÿ˜‚ The only items you suggest that I actively avoid is the swamp-cooler/misting techniques. I know the physics of how it works but for most of my life this has been a dry climate and I absolutely cannot stand getting wetter than my sweat is already doing! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜‚ It's great for folks who like it, but for me it feels icky and I honestly don't feel as though it makes me feel cooler (but that could be the ick overriding the other sensations ๐Ÿ˜‚). Thank you again! โค๏ธ

@Amgine Oh! Also, something I'd never thought about until we were hit with a #HeatDome in summer, 2021: because we're at a higher latitude than many in the world, folks don't realise that our summers have very little true darkness overnight. Relatively-long twilights at dusk and dawn, but little darkness (and of course, this is more extreme until one ends up with 24/7 daylight). The problem that arises then is that high daytime heat doesn't have time to dissipate overnight, and the heat builds and builds. I find this especially horrendous in neighbourhoods like mine where there are no shady boulevards covering the black asphalt, and the concrete sidewalks abut each side of the road, so it is a very wide space of heat absorption and radiation. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
