@likelyjanlukas I think you said you do use a microwave? If so, I will note that a larger batch of porridge will keep well for days in the fridge. A portion heats up in one minute in the microwave and, in my opinion, can be almost as good as fresh porridge (especially steel cut oats and various grain mixes, but rolled oats too). And I might be the only one who thinks so, but cold oatmeal with milk and a bit of sugar can be a delicious snack.

@feisty_lemming Oooh, I never thought of porridge as a potential cold snack. A bit like tapioca or rice pudding, but oats! ❤️ I'll try that sometime when the weather is warmer. 🙂

@feisty_lemming I make a big batch of steel cut oats in the slow cooker, 2 cups oats, 2 quarts water, 3 hours on high or overnight on low (I prefer it creamy). Usually stir in two sticks of ceylon cinnamon, ground up in an herb grinder (aka dedicated coffee grinder). When I set it to cool, I stir in a quarter cup of dried blueberries or dried montmorency (tart) cherries. I eat a very large serving for breakfast nearly every morning, and sometimes a bedtime snack. @likelyjanlukas
