@codemonkeymike@fosstodon.org @frameworkcomputer@fosstodon.org i saw the announcement of this machine. And it's the hottest laptop I've ever seen... I just would very much like the AMD version please... But the pricing on this thing 😬 Still, I'd rather spend the money on this than any other laptop (if i had the money 😁)

@codemonkeymike@fosstodon.org @frameworkcomputer@fosstodon.org What a waste. Bait and switch, offering 4 choices of Linux distros, put together mMy memory, processor, etc, then only offered stinking Windows when asked to pick an operating system.

@codemonkeymike@fosstodon.org @frameworkcomputer@fosstodon.org I can also confirm that the touchpad is very good and the laptop overall feels solid and high quality. I like the color of the keyboard keys. I tested the battery and it went to 3.14W with min brightness, barely any apps open, 60 Hz, Wi-Fi on, and power save on. I think Linux users are gonna be impressed by its battery life.

@codemonkeymike@fosstodon.org @frameworkcomputer@fosstodon.org That keyboard theme though… it’s beautiful.

@codemonkeymike@fosstodon.org @frameworkcomputer@fosstodon.org Worth knowing: Framework's trackpad is swappable. You can replace just the pad itself without opening the chassis, and they sell replacements for about $30. Also keeps the whole thing repairable down the line if the mechanism ever needs work.
