I really enjoy singing in a choir, but my heart always sinks when the conductor decides we’re going to do clapping patterns.
“Everybody claps eight beats, then the women continue clapping as before and the men switch to clapping off-beats”. Can I do it? Can I heck.
At least they don’t ask for choreography.

@hypercub @drmikepj That thing where conductors call sops/altos “the women” and tenors/basses “the men” is so annoying. It’s not just inaccurate because of non-binary people; there are women who sing tenor too!
