An opportunity for someone you know? "If Given and I were looking for a more persuasive argument — we weren't — that our water-bound life is at an end, we've found it, writ large, in the last few days. We have decided to sell our boat or (our preference) gift her, fully equipped, to younger, fitter, adventurous people who might want to take her on and sail her further. "Wrack is scruffy but sea-kindly and sound; with little work, she'd be a strong, reliable passage-maker — and/or make a practical creative, scientific, or activist platform — that might make a wild dream come true. Giving the boat away means we could 'pay forward' the care and generous support that we have received from so many over the past few years." https://www.gofundme.com/f/a-voyage-in-search-of-home

@ccohanlon that’s a bittersweet but lovely gesture. I’m so sorry though, that boat has a bit of your soul in it.

@ccohanlon a lovely gesture and a boat that deserves a fitting use and love in the next step of it's journey. Sorry you end up having to let go. :blob_rainbowheart: I can't imagine that will be easy.

@ccohanlon That is kind of you. the saying among sailors is: "There is nothing more expensive than a free boat." Do a naval survey before accpting it.

@ccohanlon fuck, I'm really sorry to hear that you're injured and have cone to this sad conclusion of your sailing journey. If you're still in Cagliari and willing to have a chat, drink a coffee (or something stronger) with a stranger, DM me. Or don't, if you don't feel like it. Either way, I hope that things take a turn for the best for the two of you
