the saying among sailors is: "There is nothing more expensive than a free boat." Do a naval survey before accpting it.

@PythonLinks It's also said not to look a gift horse in the mouth. Perhaps you should message your advice to others elsewhere, rather than to the longtime sailor (me) who is actually offering the boat (with recent survey, as it happens).
