Everytime my laptop with 32GB of RAM runs out of memory while compiling something + 1 browser with less than 20 tabs open. I think to myself: We sent people to another planetary body (the moon) in freaking outer space with a computer that had: a processor speed of 2.048 MHz, 2048 words of RAM, and 36,864 words of ROM. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_Guidance_Computer

@maryjane@social.coletivos.org We do waste lots and lots of processing power on very much unnecessary stuff. However, as the Wikipedia article notes, "The onboard AGC systems were secondary, as NASA conducted primary navigation with mainframe computers in Houston."
