@pixx I wonder if most of the work on such tools has been in commercial code targeted at high end enterprise price points, or developed for interval use only within large orgs.
I feel my company (or I) was always too penny too pinching to argue, push red tape and spend the few hundred needed to get those tools. And likely the industry didn't develop broadly because doing this well is hard work and hard to sell.
But LLM does a half ass job and is easy to sell because it "does everything."

@pixx I have heard a theory that this is a possible end game for LLMs. A bait and switch. Let your clients use the llm to develop the tools. They work hard to develop tools. You steal their work, ideas and tools. Eventually once all the interesting software is slurped up, pivot to providing the non-llm tools as a service. Each client only has a piece of the puzzle, but the LLM company sees the value in having it all fed straight to them.
