Once the amp is out of protection, it will happily play for hours on end with no issue. _Sometimes,_ it will come out of protection normally, i.e. in 5-10s, as expected, though only one in maybe 20-50 powerups. What exactly makes the difference, I don't know. It does not seem to be thermal: even when warm, the amp will behave this way.
