@deobald@fantastic.earth @tbernard@mastodon.social For me it’s kind of a question of “who will be using it and what will they expect” I have pretty much only Linux and macOS users in my life, and shipping the GTK app on Windows is easy so I might just do that since _nobody_ ships WinUI 3, so it might try and see how maintainable it is for 1-2 releases and decide to either trash or continue

@pojntfx@mastodon.social yeah, my desktop app(s) are used across all 3 operating systems. gjs+gtk don’t play nicely on windows and i haven’t been able to figure out why. a windows hacker friend suggested wpf and since that was the last non-web gui toolkit i used professionally, i was happy to roll with it. windows guis are objectively insane regardless which of microsoft’s five (five!) toolkits you choose. there’s no contrast. i can’t tell where the window borders and widget borders are, everything is a formless rectangle with sharp edges. gtk on windows looks infinitely better but i can’t get the ui to stop locking up so wpf it will be. if i ever rewrite to go, i’ll switch back to gtk. glad to hear it’s seamless. ❤️ @tbernard@mastodon.social
