@RMKrug @addison well, reviewer self-citation or not, I didn't review this paper 😉 And adding more refs should make sense, especially if the paper was solid . Xou can always miss important refs, for example because keywording has changed over time. But this should not be an excuse to decrease the quality of the ref-work.

@RMKrug@hachyderm.io @olibrendel@scicomm.xyz ohhh yeah, reviewer self-deanonymization via citation request is a gold standard of reviewer shenanigans, ongoing paper for me wanted this... and a specific extended evaluation including their work, which was largely unrelated. Fun!
