@argv_minus_one @apz so all feed are definitely algorithmic, so you have to nail down first the harms, then the remedies. but this is the kind of thing we do all the time, when inspecting food or complying with building codes.

@argv_minus_one @apz there can and should be a lot of nuance is such a process; i might share a net connection with my kid, but if i'm covering war crimes and atrocities, and she's looking for my little pony vids, identity based feeds might might very important for her not getting fed things i would like to discover. serendipity is important too.... these are not easy problems, which is why the tech companies have had the latitude to be such assholes.
