@ogi @tacaswell @mpirnat I wonder how many scientific and engineering breakthroughs and advances have been lost to society because the inventor had been filtered out of STEM due to antiquated hand calculation requirements

@brianokken @tacaswell @mpirnat had a high school math teacher that almost convinced me math wasn’t for me; despite liking it so much (I will admit I was a lazy high school student who put minimal effort overall). Some YouTube math lectures really got me through difficult subjects

@brianokken @tacaswell @mpirnat there is a flip side to this, a lot more STEM discoveries would be made if engineers were more willing to experiment with more complicated math, and move away from just basic algebra (this view is from the perspective of the mechanical engineering field).
