@carlton definitely, it reminds me of the "I work hard and pay my taxes" view of the world where people forget why some might not have the same positive experience of that path in life. The micro-economic perspective is misunderstood to translate to macro-economics. It's an easy sell though, so politicians will of course take advantage of that.
