@pmakholm true, if the content maker is already into deceiving the reader, then the timestamp doesn't matter... disguising slop by dating it before the slopocalypse 🤪
it did make me wonder when slop actually started.. I guess it says a lot about recent history that it's hard to even grasp such a simple question.

@benjaoming @pmakholm you can try checking when a website was first indexed on archive.org. Slop is (hopefully) not indexed in the first place. @benjaoming My idea was not as much using dating to disguise slop, but to use back-dated, low quality content to make a site seem more established than it really is. That scheme certainly predates ai slop.
