I did a lot of mansplaining in my 20s without meaning to. Seriously, someone I respected told me that it is important that when I learn something from someone, I should say it back to them so they can correct anything I lost in the learning. I can pretend that I don't still shake with embarrassment when I found out how so many women took that repeat-back that I was literally taught to do... but no, I still bury my head in my hands from those memories.
