@cricket_bacon *shrug* Sure, gerrymandering is gerrymandering. My point isn't the fact of gerrymandering, it is the way in which manipulation of voter pools can catastrophically backfire if turnout greatly exceeds the manipulation margin.
If you get massive turnout *and* the district holds, well, then it's either a different type of manipulation (packing vs. cracking) or it is an accurate reflection of the wishes of the majority of voters.
