@carbonated_estrogen I was very, very young and shown this magic box that does stuff and then was shown I could make it do stuff. Via Apple II GS BASIC, if you must know.

@carbonated_estrogen Nyot a super fancy story ^^' For my lasy year in high school, there was an option to do computer science as specialization instead of having more classes of another science. It was either the first or second year that was a thing I don't remember. And since I like the puters I chose it because it would be cool! And I learned the basics of programming in C this way :3

@carbonated_estrogen@transfem.social wanting to expand the capabilities of the graphing calculator i had in high school. my senpai had a handrolled quadratic formula program, and even a custom three-variable system solver based on matrix multiplication. he showed me how to get to the programming menu and type in functions and set variables and get input and i was off to the races. a couple years later i wanted to pirate some anime without clicking thru to the download links for every episode, so i picked up bash. it's all been downhill since then lol (not really)
