@stefan@akko.lightnovel-dungeon.de Well I'm in the same boat. My phone usage is so basic that I only charge my FP5 once a week. Personally I just want software that works, and which isn't made by big tech. I need it to do calls, messages, E-mails, music, fedi and wireguard+hotspot for traveling. I tried to run a pinephone with postmarketOS, but it wasn't good enough. Performance was so bad just doing something like playing music was really annoying. That was two years ago though, maybe postmarketOS on a pinephone is more usable these days. I have a Pinephone Pro as well, but it was too buggy to be particularly usable at the time.

@stefan@akko.lightnovel-dungeon.de I'm still very glad e/OS/ exists though. Because nobody else replaces google services (even if I find Murena's to be a bit less reliable). If I want a phone that I can give to my dad, and even stuff like photo backups and contact syncing works without Google/Apple/Samsung/etc., there's not really any non-bigtech options besides e/OS/.

  • @quad@akko.quad.moe sums up my ideas fairly well. Though I use mine often enough that a daily charge was needed on the FP3
