@lothcat Reminds me of the society in Ursula K. LeGuin's "Always Coming Home" who considered you poor if you had a lot of stuff, and rich if you did not, because the natural thing to do with a lot of stuff is give it away, It wasn't just that hoarding stuff earned you the reputation of being miserly and maybe a little wrong in the head, though it did - the hoarding was considered a symptom of actual poverty. I think I need to reread that book now.
