@erin @chad Erin - this is the most helpful piece I've read about mstdn.ca's current problems.
An instance is just like other NFP's or community groups: the challenging parts are less the subject matter, and more the common issues shared by all such groups - human, communication, governance and resourcing.

@NovaNaturalist I’ll add one more thing — transparency. There has been a lack of transparency from the beginning. Despite being on the moderator “leadership team” as Chad put it, I was never privy to the detailed information. Transparency in this moment would lessen the questions about how mstdn.ca is being run and where the donations are being spent. Something we would already have if there was a board.
