@odr_k4tana @abulling @ElenLeFoll @flowdie @jbigham @harvardhci @cmuhcii @hcigroup @jovermeulen unfortunately, very true ๐ I'm trying to lead by example here (because, at some point, I turned into a "senior academic" ๐ด), but it doesn't feel like there's much impact yet - I feel like you need to have a lot of patience in this race, and that's a luxury most non-tenured folks cannot afford ๐

@floe @abulling @ElenLeFoll @flowdie @jbigham @harvardhci @cmuhcii @hcigroup @jovermeulen I'm pretty convinced that most if not all academic change/reform has to be initiated top-down, because the bottom 80% (ECRs) are dependent on the metrics the top sets to stay in academia. I believe people care when I see them move goalposts or start doing stuff that benefits the people lower in the food chain. Everything else is just performative, as far as I'm concerned.
