@octothorpe@mastodon.online @Craigp@mastodon.social I agree with you both. It's still not a "Photoshop killer". But I wonder if it could be if there had been more adoption (and therefore more interest, drive to improve, involvement, etc) which was likely stagnated by "I'm not getting behind some thing called GIMP."

    @tankgrrl@hachyderm.io @Craigp@mastodon.social TBH, I think a very very small number of people who would even be capable of working on the project decided not to work on the project because of the name. As someone who also has hills I will die on, the reality is statistically no one gives a fuck what the name is. As for adoption, 1, it would have to be a competitor, and it’s not. 2, It would also have to run easily on windows and Mac, which ‘technically’ it may do, but not practically.
