I'm not worried about multi-billion-dollar tech companies.
I'm worried about *alternatives* to those tech companies (like Mastodon) being made illegal.
I'm also worried about the children who are being silenced. They'll be disconnected from their friends (which is devastating for kids who are only able to find friends online). They'll lose access to LGBT+ resources. Youth activists will be silenced.
Nothing good can come of this.

@pmc I'm also very worried about social media bans at a time when a handful of giant companies own virtually all news outlets. Until now, social media was the one place where journalism could happen without corporate approval and without a profit motive. Now, independent journalists will need approval from a big social media company, their reach will be limited only to adults willing to show government ID to said company, and youth journalists will be silenced entirely. @quinn @eniko
