@whitequark To be fair, FreeCAD and KiCAD both are the reason my list is "(close enough to be) flawless" because they both still have some flaws. But they're also free. Like, costs me nothing to acquire and use free. Doesn't restrict what I can do with them free. I'm not going to complain too incessantly about even slightly suboptimal UX when that's the case. We as a society are getting some genuinely good software out of devs working in their spare time for nothing.

  • @whitequark I actually want to see if I can add Audacity 4.0 to that list, now that it's evolved into a non-destructive editor. I dropped Audacity 2.x years ago because it was a destructive editor and I just could not do the work I wanted to do in it. Started to pick up Cocko's Reaper, but it's such a dense piece of professional-grade kit that I never got back into doing what I wanted to do.
