It's a little too easy for anything to oversignify these days, but my dentist's office wanting to take a passport-style photo of me and keep it on file "so we can recognize people and greet them by name"? That's *weird*. Dentist's offices are not exactly a bastion of good interpersonal boundaries, but: weirdos. (Fair and balanced coverage: Both my health card renewal and the mammogram office acted like perfectly pleasant, normal people yesterday.)
