@ai6yr I wonder how you tell if you have a male or female tree.

    @Coho male and female flowers have different structures. Careful examination will show this. Male parts produce pollen, female parts receive pollen-they are sticky. Trees that self pollinate must have both sex structures somewhere in the flower. No fruit unless pollen (sperm) get to ovary (egg). Unless the plant is "parthenocarpic" in which case pollination is not required. I'm not aware of any parthenocarpic avocados, but it's possible they exist

    @Coho Aha, here we go. You need Class A cultivars (receive pollen in morning) with Class B cultivars (distribute pollen in the morning). I don't know how you tell which is which.
