I really hope the rains aren't done yet. It's been such a dry spring here that I actually irrigated today - and I should have been irrigating once or twice a week for about a month but just couldn't believe I'd have to start this early. #gardening

@sus@timeloop.cafe Yeah, I feel you. I don't even dare to leave the garden for a few days. Because the automatic irrigation isn't up and running, yet. But it's April! I actually had to water my potato buds and wood sowings by hand! In April! That's crazy!

@sus@timeloop.cafe In my corner of Belgium, rain stopped 4 weeks ago. I planted taprooted trees and made ponds and a turf bog in the veggie garden, so there is still dew there in the morning. But that's all there is left. I will sow chickpeas instead of bush beans.

@sus@timeloop.cafe It used to be. It's been 5 years with a first dry spell in the spring, and last year this extended from the end of january to mid-may. Not very hot, but no rain at all. Quite difficult for garden planning : our rainwater tanks are empty well before summer comes.
