@bflipp in my experience of getting people away from shitty proprietary platforms and onto community-run ones, you're never going to have an 'easier' experience getting them onboard - the Discords of the world have too much $ to invest in smoothing the on ramp (they have no off ramp, though, of course). But the trick is to make the community space (your Matrix) the one in which the most interesting and dynamic folks in the community are active. The rest will follow soon enough. @strypey

@lightweight @strypey Not being able to sign up easily with mobile or activate new devices with QR scanning is a HUGE roadblock. Both of which MAS solves if I’m understanding things correctly. If the docs were actually geared toward a poc implementation of MAS it would help a ton. Kind of feel like I’m flying blind now when the rest of the setup was pretty easy. MAS would let me completely replicate the auth/signup flow of Discord and would give my users great assurance.
