The most important thing to say plainly: Kagi does not make surveilling you possible, and nothing you search or ask is used to train anyone's models. The same applies to AI features: Kagi proxies every request, so the LLM provider doesn't see who you are. You can check our LLM & Privacy guide here: https://help.kagi.com/kagi/ai/llms-privacy.html
As for indexes we use, Kagi blends in much more than Google (including our own indexes.) More below 👇

@Blort@social.tchncs.de when Kagi calls an external source or index, it's an anonymized API call made from our servers. Your identity, account, and IP never reach them, and queries aren't logged against you on our side. That's meaningfully different from searching Google directly. As for Quick Answer, that is AI-powered and uses multiple LLMs to provide the best possible quick and summarized results. We do not send each Quick Answer "straight to Google."
