@pathunstrom I have used the in-built version of DataGrip in PyCharm but don't need it, so that's also going to be a consideration for you, I think? My guess is that VSCodium is in the lead in this area given its vast extension list, but I don't know off-hand what the go-to extension for that would be.

@tunafishtiger I am a data touching weirdo, yeah. I pointed out privately that ultimately, the big benefit of datagrip is exploration for me. Being able to call up table views and poke at them to get a sense of the thing. But I can also do that with table descriptions in the database shell. The IDE just means I don't have to remember the invocation for the particular database engine to spot check things.
