@bestiaexmachina Years ago, there was a website called www.suck.com. It was a daily sort of cultural commentary about this and that. And really well written, various authors, and illustrated. One day, it started to have a single non scrolling ad, upon the left corner. Readers screamed! Main guy responded a few days later and confessed that the ad was necessary to help fund the website. Then he said, just put a post it note over the ad while reading. That worked!
