@iaruffell yeah, unfortunately I have specific use cases for Windows that I can’t get away from. I used to dual-boot all the time, maybe I’m just getting old and slow!

@flup I know what you mean. This is definitely something that has got harder, I think. Who'd have thought it would be possible to miss the old days of manual partitioning and Lilo. I use to dual-boot my work desktops before bitlocker became unavoidable. tbh, I am still getting my head around UEFI. I think you'd be fine with the precautions I mentioned. A reliable distro shouldn't have any problems partitioning etc. Yoou will definitely need that recovery password though.
