@klizana The genesis of that thought came from listening to the podcast of fine art photographer (not the wrestler) Brooks Jensen.
He recommends displaying prints in a frame without glass — like a painting. As he points out, a photo with glass is more likely to be damaged if it falls!
I order most prints from Mpix, and I usually pay the extra cost to get that protective coating.
I can only imagine what it would cost to have a large panorama like that framed professionally!

@analogfusion that's great! Applying the protective layer is the hardest to do at home, if your prints already have that, you are already set.
