@Canageek that makes sense with what I've heard/seen.
A lot of UK Nitrokeg lagers are 4% ABV, but to reduce transportation costs are either brewed under licence or concentrated/reconstituted. The latter approach may well use such ethanol solutions.

@EdtheChem Oh, and I've personally found that a lot of things that aren't beer, but are beer like used grain alcohol, like alcoholic ginger beer is made with ginger and grain alcohol
