Apparently it's St George's day and people in England are expected by people on certain platforms to post flags in some sort of jingoistic orgy of patriotism. So here goes: #ReJoinEU

    @Waxingtonknee today I'm recognising the patron saint of Georgia Portugal Brazil Ethiopia Bulgaria Bosnia Kosovo Montenegro Serbia And the autonomous Spanish regions of Catalonia and Aragon The cities of Moscow Mons Amersfoort Beirut amongst others My neighbouring Parish But most importantly of all Palestine. When I visited Bethlehem almost every building had a plaque of him on it.

    @Waxingtonknee More importantly, it's also World Book Day. It was selcted as the date because on April 23 1616 Shakespeare died, and, 11 days later, Cervantes died, also on April 23 1616. This cab be because Spain used the Gregorian calendar while England still used the Julian one.
