@smallsco Smoothwall Linux (2.4 based) running on literally a piece of wood with a leftover Socket7 motherboard, two scrounged NICs (RTL8139 + 3Com 905-something) in the attic where the ADSL intake was. It was amazing. ❤️

@bakkus @smallsco another early 00s SmoothWall user here! Mine was on an Apricot 486 with two 10mb/s 3com PCI cards in it. Initially with a USR 56k modem, but later Diamond Cable 128/64kb/s cable modem connection. Luxury 😎

@bakkus @smallsco In early 2000s we ran MikroTik version 1 or 2 on a piece of tin. That was running a Farsite PCI diginet card and an intel e100 card for LAN. I think it was a 128k link.
