a typical vape board has * cortex M0 MCU * NOR flash IC * a pushbutton or slide switch * li-ion battery + charger * nice LCD display (sometimes LED) * differential pressure sensor * coil driver(s) with voltage feedback

some fancy ones also have bluetooth and even a touchscreen! (i haven't reverse-engineered those yet)

@tubetime It really irks me that so much hardware is stuffed into a short-term use disposable product. ISTR Big Clive demonstrating that even disposable one-time use e-cigs have rechargeable cells (without the charge circuitry) because they're cheaper than Li primary cells.

  • @tubetime I've never found one of these with more than a simple numerical display for the charge amount, but I do have plenty of random lithium polymer cells from various ground finds The amount of tech going into something "disposable" is just insane. Also, are any of the pressure sensors more than a simple switch?

@tubetime I seem to recall some of the higher end ones actually run a webserver, because it was just easier for developers to put a micro LAMP stack they were familiar with.
