@OctaviaConAmore We live in a time with more propaganda than ever before, and most of it people aren’t aware of either. The power of language is a bit like a spell, or like a self propagating auditory virus if you will.
Racism and bigotry is often connected with trivializing and jokes for instance. There was a big push for “there is no racism in america anymore” for a while and it was just thick of racist rhetoric.
Getting informed is a great start. Especially since a lot is context sensitive and quite frankly local.
But both yes and yes. Not just slurs, but being informed about slurs is important.
