Another example is compliments and encouraging words. It could literally be the simplest sentence, yet lift someone's spirit for the whole day. Showing compassion and empathy can literally ease burdens. You could reinvigorate someone's spirit and will. A sentence in someone's defence can make them not just feel safer, but also feel seen and heard :shiba_love: Basically, what I'm saying is you're all mages and the first rule to being a mage is to be ultimately responsible for the spells you cast lest you bring harm to others :bugcat_nod:

@OctaviaConAmore One can think of it as hacking minds instead of computers :) (Snowcrash is such an incredible book, too bad the author went dingo brain.) But hard agree. Online we’ve mostly forgotten how to be social. To see whoever is on the other end as a person (even though I know AI/Bots are terrifyingly common). Normalize saying nice things one means would change so much. Instead of the opposite. (Basically we want Mr. Roger back, instead of the dystopian sociopath Mr. Beast.)

@OctaviaConAmore@cutie.city That’s such a cool way of illustrating this concept! I haven’t gotten too deep into it so I could be wrong, but I think that’s like a common theme among a lot of real magick traditions. the idea that everyone is performing magick at some base level with their words, thoughts, actions, etc.
