#3GoodThings from yesterday πŸ“‘ I successfully carried out my first #mesh experiment - communicating with my friend @stereo@freiburg.social in Germany... some 400km away!!! It only took 6 hops - including the iconic Jungfraujoch radio relay station πŸ€ I found my second 4-leaf clover in a field near a bike track - when I took my little one biking πŸ‘ on our way home we stumbled upon a flock of sheep - it was fascinating to see a couple of adorable Border Collies in action herding them

@_elena@mastodon.social @stereo@freiburg.social I have recently acquired a Meshtastic device and the range in Brazil is unbelievable! I am in Rio de Janeiro and got nodes 2.000km away through only to hops! I am trying to understand how is it possible, but we don’t have many mountains and it helps a lot

@_elena@mastodon.social @stereo@freiburg.social Really impressive distance! #meshcore clearly the best for #offgrid group chats. I'm currently on another project still fiddling with #reticulumnetwork settings for a #LoRa bridge into the Internet or #i2p So far I think for beginners on Android #columba is the easiest for 1:1 chatting https://github.com/torlando-tech/columba On desktop https://meshchatx.com/ which can show #nomadnet pages too, e.g. IRC style group chats And there is a first map showing #RNode https://rmap.world/
