@idzie I don't use permethrin in Colorado myself, but I do/did when I'm in the Midwest! Ticks get so bad there that a walk in my favorite wildflower prairie would mean at least 5 ticks somewhere on Jinx (and since he gets monthly tick treatment, if I don't catch them they crawl off him and latch onto me 🥲)
I grew up in a hunting family so just doing the boots and hats in summer and outwear in fall was normalized.

@vapaad oof that's awful. I was always paranoid back when I spent more time in Maine, it's BAD there. In Quebec growing up we never had ticks at all, they've just steadily moved in until now they're a routine problem, and Lyme is an increasing issue. But thankfully still nothing like Maine or the Midwest US.
