It ain't all bad. Got to see lunch time in a locked, dementia palliative care ward, in a commercial, government funded, aged care facility today in 2026. Not a "beautiful decor" place, many small rooms have 2 residents and no window. The staff have time to engage with residents and have a quick chat, no one is walk-running. A "more beautiful" locked ward facility in 2018, had all the signs of severe understaffing - rush, rush, rush, stressed staff, neglect of toileting. #AgedCareFunding
