@keirFox so I guess nvme of some kind
to get actual blocks of zeros with full disk encryption wouldn't something actually have to write the zeros? like a disk failure wouldn't explain this?

@keirFox if there's memory corruption as some people are suggesting, well you can't really reason about what the software should be doing anymore because instructions could be being corrupted, but I would expect more random corruption of the data or at least more random other crashes
