@swetland frankly I’m just curious what the tool is.
I likely would have done the same thing you did if I was just trying to get it to run on my machine. Or blast it into a container I suppose.
Still seems silly.

@elebertus The author absolutely doesn't owe me a Makefile, and it's a useful little tool, so I'd rather just grumble about how the world's changing than possibly cause needless grief for someone.
