@gemlog I struggle to feel sorry for all US citizens when millions voted multiple time for him, and millions didn’t even bother to vote. It’s a symptom of a violent, religious, poorly educated society with an outdated, corruptible electoral system. The current administration are much the same as the old ones, now they stopped being polite and say the quiet things loudly. They need real change, otherwise, Trump-like characters will continue being birthed. As a Brit, I fear we’re on the same path.

@Emmacox @gemlog Thank you both for sharing your experiences. They remind me very much of the internal border checks carried out by East German soldiers, to whom even West Germans were completely at the mercy of. I experienced this as a child when visiting relatives in the GDR, and I never want to have to go through that again. A part of my family lives in the USA but meanwhile I broke all contacts. Once upon a time they fled from Hitler. But their descendants *all* fell first for evangelical

I was very close to moving back to Wales, so I've been monitoring the political winds in the UK more closely than usual. Sadly, I think you're correct. More socially responsible people abandoning the newly tory Labour and turning to the Greens would be good. Mind you, I would have been working on a more separatist, socialist and greener Plaid myself...
