@NatureMC how awful. I visited over a decade ago on a business trip and ended up getting stopped at the airport, taken to a side room and strip-searched because they didn't like the seams in the jeans I wore and thought I was carrying drugs. I think the guards just wanted to grope and check out my underwear. That (and having to suffer a visit to a gun range) put me off ever going again.

I spent $300 more on a recent trip, simply to avoid transiting through the USA. And I'm a straight, old white guy - it's just not worth the risk. Plus fighting the stupid tariff punishments for no reason. Very rich, very powerful government. Poor disenfranchised peoples. No medical system and the most encarcerated people on the planet. If it wasn't so sad to witness, the difference between their hollywood/MSM propaganda and the reality would be a good movie on its own. No. Will never visit again. I feel sorry for every-day USians.
