@NatureMC this is exactly how I learned how to embroider! I was obsessed with sewing since before kindergarten but my mom knew nothing about it, so I just went nuts with whatever scrap fabric she let me have and the thread in her sewing box. I figured out lots of things on my own even at that age. A lot of it is exactly what it looks like.

@secretsloth Thank you for sharing this, I love that playful way. In our cultural heritage center, I had a workshop for 9 yrs old. In France, they don't learn embroidery at school and we made textile collages mainly with glue. But we also had threads and showed the children easy running and back stitches. It was a surprise: after 2 hours they embroidered their initials or name, and they had never done it before!
