@HarriettMB @TCMuffin @skyfire747 @capnthommo I did think that when I read the story. Nobody wants to victim shame, but taking something of that value to the pub in your handbag is less than ideal. With that sort of value it should have been moved back and forth by a security firm. The thief was bag snatching for drug money. He had no idea what he’d taken.

    @davidbcohen @HarriettMB @TCMuffin @skyfire747 @capnthommo Reminds me of one of our mayors, who was in the habit of cycling to events by herself with the gold chain in a Sainsbury's bag in the basket on the front of her bike. The mayor's minder, who amongst other things was responsible for the safety of the gold chain, really didn't think this was a good idea and much preferred to drive her around in the official car. "But if I'm not actually wearing the chain nobody will know I'm the mayor, so nobody will know there's anything of any value in the Sainsbury's bag, so it won't get nicked" was her argument. That didn't work for this woman, did it.
