Something that fascinates me about a lot of influential artists is that even though basically everyone has imitated them, their work STILL stands out among the test. Like, just about every fantasy author has tried writing like Tolkien at some point, but no one writes like Tolkien, and Osamu Tezuka may be just about the most influential cartoonist of all time, but Osamu Tezukas manga are fascinatingly weird in ways I haven't really seen replicated in other manga, and not for a lack of trying!
